Training
& Experience

Dr. Deane completed her medical training at McGill University before undertaking her residency in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at the University of British Columbia, a programme through which she distinguished herself as Chief Resident, Residency Lead for Competency by Design, and a recipient of multiple awards including the Garth Warnock Postgraduate Trainee Award and the Best Resident Research Award. Her residency research encompassed free flap reconstruction of the head and neck, complex laryngeal surgery, and health practitioner education, with work published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international meetings.

She subsequently completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League institution and one of North America’s most distinguished academic medical centres, training through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. During her fellowship she was concurrently appointed attending surgeon at Penn Presbyterian Medical Centre, co-founded the institution’s Gender Affirming Injectables Clinic, and contributed to surgical education as a SimFest faculty presenter. She has since returned to Montreal to join Clinique FaceMD as an attending surgeon.

Dr. Deane offers her patients the full spectrum of facial aesthetic care across surgical, injectable, and energy-based modalities. Her surgical practice spans the entirety of the face, encompassing rhinoplasty across preservation, structural, and reduction techniques; brow lifting; upper and lower blepharoplasty; face and neck lifting; chin augmentation and implants; lip lifting and augmentation; fat grafting of the periorbital, midface, and lip regions; and ear surgery. In the non-surgical realm, she provides expert treatment with neuromodulators, dermal fillers, biostimulators, and a comprehensive range of energy-based devices for skin rejuvenation, resurfacing, and facial contouring. Whether a patient’s goals are best served by surgery, a non-surgical approach, or a thoughtfully combined treatment plan, Dr. Deane is equipped to deliver excellence across every modality. Her approach in all cases is grounded in precise anatomic knowledge, attentiveness to proportion and balance, and a genuine respect for the individuality of each face.

As a woman practising in a historically male-dominated specialty, Dr. Deane brings a perspective to facial aesthetics that is both clinically rigorous and distinctly informed by lived experience. She understands firsthand the nuanced relationship between appearance, identity, and confidence, and approaches aesthetic surgery not as the imposition of an ideal, but as a collaborative process of refinement guided by each patient’s own sense of self. Dr. Deane remains an active contributor to the academic and professional community. She has published in journals including Facial Plastic Surgery, Otolaryngologic Clinics of North America, Plastic and Aesthetic Research, and the Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, and has served as Assistant Editor for a special rhinoplasty issue of Facial Plastic Surgery. She currently sits on the Emerging Trends and Technologies Committee of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and holds membership in the Triologic Society, the American Society of Plastic Surgery, Women in Otolaryngology Canada, and the Association of Women Surgeons, among others.

Fluent in both English and French, Dr. Deane sees patients in either language. She approaches every consultation with the same precision and care she brings to the operating room, listening attentively, communicating clearly, and partnering with each patient toward outcomes that are not only surgically excellent, but authentically and enduringly their own.
